YH Studios is starting the year with a BANG and making history. It started out as a concept and now, we’re finally doing it. Lots of planning, time and a lot of caffeine were consumed to put this event into fruition.
We’ve taken in a project wherein both YH Studios and The Lipstick Makeup Institute would be present — Revolutionising the way we do school photography. For the first time in photography history, the “Normal” School photography has ben done in many different ways but never in The YH Studios and The Lipstick Makeup Institute way.
We waited to do something that the kids actually love to do and feel cool doing rather than it be a chore!! And that is us making history.
As per discussion with the school we were talking about the pst photography and how we could increase the popularity for the photos. After having a look at previous years photographs just off the tip of my tongue I said That I could bring my hair and makeup team in to smarten up the children so that the hair and so forth looks polished rather than like a kid who has been playing football all day!
The school thought it was a great idea and thats where the idea sprouted from.
I have been asked many times top do ” school Photography” but for me as portrait and fashion photographer It was not something that I wanted to do but Lycèe International School was so cool and gave me a wide stance to be creative.
The traditional shots are not something me and my team are doing but we have made it into Fashion Shoot for kids so they feel like mimi models!!
They just love it and so do my team, It such a pleasure to work with such cute kids. From The time 4 years old to the 18 year olds.
A Huge Thank you to all the teachers and helpers at Lycèe French International School.
Luxury is everywhere in Dubai. We had the honor of working with the lovely Carlotta Conca (https://lustforthesublime.com) during her stay at the Burj al Arab.
Last week, we received an email from Carlotta and asked us if we’d like to join her in her stay at the Burj al Arab to capture her stay there through photography and video. I mean, who would say no to that? It’s the one and only Burj al Arab! So, we made plans for the shoot and took with us our sister company, The Lipstick Makeup Institute, to join us to do the hair and the makeup.
We got to the hotel and was greeted by glass doors and gold embellishments all over the facility. Calm music was playing with a whiff of floral perfume encompassed the lobby. The team was escorted to Carlotta’s hotel room and immediately unpacked our things so we could start the shoot as soon as possible.
We first went to the Library where the huge snooker table was at and then we went to the beach area.
It was a hot summer’s day at Dubai but the team didn’t let the sun beat us. Together with the photographer, our videographer also captured some beautiful shots for Carlotta’s blog while the makeup artist stood by to check whether or not Carlotta needed to retouch.
When we finished the shoot, we went back to Carlotta’s room to cool down a bit and had some snacks and drinks before we left the wonderful hotel.
As soon as we got back to the studio, the editors started editing the photos so that it’ll be ready as soon as possible. Thankfully, we had a lot of amazing shots so there were no issues choosing which are the best. The next day, Carlotta came back to the studio to have a look at the photos and she was very pleased with the results.
SORAYA B. COUTURE AND VAROIN MARWAH AW 2018 FASHION SHOW
The first Friday after the Ramadan Holidays, June 22 2018, we collaborated with a couple of fabulous designers, SORAYA B. COUTURE and VAROIN MARWAH at VII DUBAI in Conrad Hotel. In cooperation with Fashion TV, our students from the Lipstick Makeup Institute created the looks for the models before they marched their way into the runway. As the YH team documented the chaos backstage.
The YH Team captured the transformation of the models from their casual wear to the beautiful creations of Soraya and Varoin.
Beautiful muses emerge to the main stage with a mixture of blinding gold highlights and fuschia pink cheeks Avant Garde looks.
With the guidance of one of the Lipstick Makeup Institute’s teachers and coordinator, the students were challenged to finish their makeup look within 10-15 mins per model in their first ever fashion show as the boys captured precious moments of it.
It was a jam-packed show. The models adorning the designs by Soraya and Varoin gleamed on the cat-walk.
The models owned the stage as they felt so confident in their ensamble. Shining bright with Soraya’s gowns and make up that gave them confidence to hold their heads up high.
Day 1 of Arab Fashion Week in KSA. Was so privileged to have me and my team from YH Studios DXB be an active part in this wonderful event. We covered all backstage photography and videography for Arab Fashion Week I am so please that we got some really fantastic shots and footage.
We were over whelmed opportunity to be a part of an historical happening. Arab Fashion Week has put some huge shows on and this did not disappoint. For the first time in Saudi Arabia @arabfashioncouncil was proud to hold the first ever fashion show in this country full of amazing, beautiful people who cannot do enough to help you and make you feel so welcome.
YH Studios DXB Has been involved many times in Arab Fashion Week so was so happy to be apart of this once again.
We were all so overwhelmed by the generosity of time and hospitality that the Arabic people displayed. They welcomed us into their country with open arms.
As for the Fashion Show! To be working with he team from Jena Paul Gaultiere was just incredible. I have admired everything about this guy so to be up close and personal with his amazing catwalk designs was such a privilege.
The models were flown in from all over the world so a good range of faces for the runway. They were lovely to work with and very professional. We all worked together as a team and this is a major attribute to making a show very successful. We are all there to achieve amazing results for us all.
Behind the scenes is where all the action happens and I just love it. We get some off the cuff shots and natural video footage which makes the final cuts so authentic.
Jean Paul Gaultiere catwalk was just heaven, the clothes complimented each model and the spiraling video on the tv screen behind was so complimentary, was mind blowing.
