Get the best from the App Perfect 365 tip 3 on day number 3 of my secrets to achieving that flawless look.
This is a wonderful too. The Deepen smile tool is great for enlarging our smile.
Whiten Teeth tool is fabulous if the light has not quite managed to hit them and make them dazzle so this tool will! But once again, don’t over do it. If your teeth are normally extremely white then its ok but if they are just a shade lighter then just gently use this tool.
The Lipstick tool is great to add a bit of colour to make your smile appear brighter and also the teeth as red lipstick will always make the teeth appear whiter. The only problem with this tool is that the mouth has to be kind of centre to the picture as it pre set to the app so if your face is not centred and you add the Lipstick tool you might end up with a moth shaped lipstick on your cheek!
I love this tool, If you have just been shot at the wrong angle and your face looks slightly plump then you can slim it down with the slim face tool.
You can lift your cheeks too but don’t do it too much as we will look silly if our cheek are right under our eyes and they are not usually!
My favourite tool in the contouring is Enhance The Nose Tool. It casts a shadow which can slim the nose and cover bumps and lumps we don’t want to see. I have a small bone on the left side of my nose which is prominent when I turn to the side and I dislike it so this tool disguises it. Tool, I love you!!!!!!The sample is a pictures taken in the morning last November when my nephews and nieces were visiting.
Here are a few examples of where these tools are perfect.
Example one now look at example 2 the skin looks so fresh and smooth without being over done! You can see that I don’t look so tired. I love this tool!! I also opened my eyes a little bit as they seem smaller when you smile.
Tip Number 2 on how to get the best from your APPS.
We are still on Perfect 365.
This app is just so incredibly flattering its very addictive, as I said yesterday its just like having a make up artist in your phone. Now, I find it difficult to NOT use it! But i just have that kind of personality, VAIN Ha
On this app I use the tools for , skin, eyes, lips and contouring tools.
Today I am going to talk about the skin and Eyes tools and tomorrow the Lips and Contouring tools.
I us the Brighten Tool and the soften skin tool, it removes blemishes. I find this better than the blemish tool. The only problem is that people just over do it and I cannot stress enough that, Less is More! I see images on Facebook all the time and people look absolutely flawless and like they have just been airbrushed to the MAX! Its too much guys. Gently does it. We are Not Plastic people!
I use the Circle tool, which is fabulous is you are looking slightly tired and its difficult to overdo this tool as it doesn’t really allow you too.
The Brighten tool which brightens the whites of the eyes but be very careful as its so easy to overdo.
Finally the Enlarge tool. Sometimes we squint on images especially if we have a big smile on our faces so this will make our eyes appear very small so this tool is perfect but once again do not overdo it as themes are a major feature on our faces and if you alter too much then it will not look like you, you will just look weird!
Here are a few examples of GENTLE Editing, nothing too extreme.
The one of me with the sunglasses on is a PERFECT example of very
gentle editing but can see that it kind of gives you that polished look.
Well the best secret ever and always is the best tip I can give you all.
ALWAYS shoot from above!
When i train photographers in the studio. I get them to do a shoot and I edit their shots and I can tell immediately from looking at the image the mistakes and the classic one is that they always shoot from below and shoot upwards. Now unless you are a supermodel and are creating a Vogue front cover then this is not going to work with the average person.
Doing this will always always give the person a fat chin, neck and fat everything unless they are super skinny!
I am always conscious of this and its not such a bad thing as pictures are always memories! You will hide any double chin or any imperfections of the neck! It in fact makes you stretch the neck out so giving the impression it is longer than it is and also with gravity makes your wrinkles push back and stretches the skin on the face making you look younger! TRY IT, it really works!
7. Loosen up.
Unless you’re a professional model, which rules most of us out! odds are that most of the photos you find yourself in are fun, casual shots with friends. As much you think “posing” for these types of pictures will make you look better, the fact remains that loosing up and having a little fun will almost always make for a more flattering snap. Since you’re not trying as hard, there will be less room for error.
Basically its a continuation of my tips yesterday. Relaxed and natural always captures the best shots. I have got some fabulous shots that are casual but with a little arrangement from me they always look like they have been put together but I ALWAYS think about the composition. Its in my blood, I can’t help it.
As I said yesterday, memories are EVERYTHING.
Always think about a shot before just taking it. You will get better each time you take them and you will love the fact that you can think quickly as how to arrange people. Its a marvellous tool but as I have been a photographer for over 25 years sometimes I do wish I could give my brain a rest, but I CAN’T!!!
Here are some great example of casual shots but the composition is spot on. All taken on my i Phone.
6. Learn to smile for the camera. Smiling is a tricky thing when it comes to photos. Too big, and you look silly, but none at all can make you look broody or angry or if you get it right sultry and attractive! The solution? The ‘natural’ smile you so often do when the camera’s not on you.
I always tell my friends and clients in the studio or on location to talk to each other this way they feel silly and immediately laugh when they look at each other and we get the the best photographs.
Smiling too wide on purpose will cause your face to tense up, your eyes to squint, and your cheeks to puff out, which aren’t the benchmarks of an attractive photo. Instead, take a beat to relax your face and open your mouth slightly, so that your lower lip matches the curve of your upper teeth. This is universally flattering, and allows you to decide how much teeth you want to show. Not a fan of smiling with teeth? Laugh and look to the side, behind you or downwards, anyway to create angles and interest.
One thing to note: When you smile naturally, the area around your eyes tends to crease a bit, which reads as much more sincere than stiffly smiling just with your mouth. It also shows your character and personality which makes shot so much more interesting.
A classic example of this . My friends and I went to a ball the other day and here are 2 shots from the same moment but me being me, I always like to make a picture have interest so shot 2 you can tell just because of what I said that I told my friends to talk to each other.
I am trying to use all shots from the phone so you can see the results you can achieve. Thees are not shot in the best of light hence why they are pixelated but it did record the moment. In fact, a very special moment as 2 of my best friends on these shots are leaving Dubai for good so the value in these shots are priceless. Basically sums up everything I have been talking about creating memories.
5. Don’t follow the group! Be an individual !!
The key to a getting noticed and being an individual is NOT all doing the same pose. Not only is just boring and stiff but its not fun.We are all individuals with our own charcters and personalities so I always try and bring this out in a photo.
Creating memories is what photography is all about and we want to remember when we look back at an image that was taken wherever and when it was. We can immediately identify our friends characters by the way they shine in a photo. Some of us are more serious, some laugh more, some do the same pose. Its amazing. I love it. We are all so different yet need each other in many different ways.
We go through life and meet so many people that the only way to record a moment apart from storing it in our memories tightly locked away in our hearts and brains is to take pictures. We all love it, more and more every day.
I was told a joke the other day that just summed this statement up:
A couple were in a fancy restaurant and the starters came, decorated and presented beautifully. The couple started to eat and then the waiter came over and asked if something was wrong? The couple rep[lied, “no, why?” and the waiter relied that,” I thought something was wrong as you did not photograph your food!”
We Photograph EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE ha !!
Be yourself, always and forever. That what our friends love about
us and will always remember us the way we are.
